The Ignorant M"asses"

After several months of hearing about our terrible economy from a plethera of people, I have decided to get on my soap box again. I have several topics to discuss from the Gov't bailout, CEO's, Unions, and maybe a little personal responsibility.

Why do these major companies expect bailouts? If I cant afford my lifestyle will the government give me money to continue? NO. I would either have to file for bankruptcy or get on welfare.
Why then, are we the people supporting these embezzling fat cats? Have we become the ignorant masses? These bailouts claim to be for the company. Why are we seeing executive company getaways and CEO's demanding 10 Million dollar bonuses? We continue to be fed these lies and swallow them whole. I say make an example out of a couple companies. I understand the repercussions, but make an example out of someone people tend to straighten up and fly right. Our money is just that our money. I do not want my money being spent on a private flight to DC or a Union worker who hides behind his/her own union brethren to complain about making 40 bucks an hour.

I was raised understanding you had to work hard for your money and no one was going to give you anything. You had to earn it and take what was rightfully yours. Most importantly, do not get cocky about your God given success and live outside your means because one day God might take it away from you. (Im pretty sure is says that somewhere in the Bible)

Where did I miss the course in college called "Whinning: Do it enough and someone will take care of you"? At one time the unions were needed. Something has gone horribly wrong since that time. The unions have become the bosses. Not necessarily a bad thing to an extent. Companies are now forced to pay and compensate the blue collar workers so much it is breaking the companies. WOW. What away to bite the hand that literally feeds you and your family. Whatever happened to compromise and commitment? We are talking about a kind of marriage here. A marriage between an employer and employee. One that says you are here for me and ill be here for you. Now, it looks to be more of a Hollywood divorce. Each side is screwing and complaining about the other side while in the mean time leaving the kids(us) to fend for ourselves. Maybe it has come time to divorce our jacked up parents and find new ones? I hear the steel industry has good parents.

These CEOs and their cronies should be rounded up and sent to prison. Im not speaking about the Martha Stewart kind of prison. Im thinking about the Michael Vick, Dennis Rader sort of Prison. These white-collar subhumans do not kill, they commit far worse crimes. They rape and steal from the masses and their pocketbooks. Maybe all of this has stemed from a another more pressing issue with our country?

Could it be the citizens need more than two political parties to choose from. I hear many discuss the need for a third party candidate. Someone who truly represents the people and not the companies and their personal interests. I love my country, its people, and what it stands for but, now when it looks to be one of the darker points in our history we ALL need to work together to conquer this economic demon and invest right back in it. Now is the perfect time to invest and and get on the ground floor or our economic recovery. God will not give us anything we can not handle and apparently we can handle a lot. I hope we the younger generation will wake up and not continue this childish charade allowed by the ignorant m"asses".

How Bad Off Are We?

Our country is not falling, we are not destined for a islamo-fascist state, and most importantly our economy isnt going to hell in a hand basket.

As I sat and listened to Lee Greenwood and watched the fireworks I started thinking. I started to think about our economy mostly. I thought, "Wow, our economy must be doing better than what I thought. Why else would the common man (or woman) be spending this sort of money for these multitudes of big ass fireworks." At one point you would have thought a few small battles had started. If America was so bad economically, one would logically think Americans were strapped for cash and would not be purchasing large amounts of gunpowder and ingiting it for shits and grins?

Our economy is in its prime to invest. This country was founded on white slave owners(read the history books, they were) who took a gamble on establishing a nation and won. Our forefathers stuck to the man or in this case King to only build and sustain the oldest form of government ever. Now, is the perfect time to "stick it to the man" economically, especially our youth. If we invest while the stocks are down we get a bigger bang for our buck. Down the road this bigger bang blesses us with the type of return to possibly build a house on a golf course in El Dorado KS. and retire at a nice age to enjoy it (as an example). The truth of the matter is this is a perfect opportunity to slowly take the reigns from our parents and start to move the nation and economy in the direction WE want it to go. (not Barack's) If we start doing this now our politicians would have no choice but to listen to the future of the nation. I, personally, do not have a problem with drilling in the ANWR if it is done as ecologically safe as possible. I dont have a problem building refineries in the barren deserts of our southwest. Most importantly I do not have a problem putting a luxury tax on fast food and raising the high taxes already on tobacco/alcohol.

In summary, we live in a great nation with great ideals. It is only a few wackjobs that make it difficult from time to time to manage our lives. Our economy is going to bounce back it is inevidible and the islamo fascists that are here seriously do not want to mess with our backwoods bubbas. These proud Americans patrol the streets with their big glass pack trucks and the rifles on display in their back windows. All the government has to say is," those bastards over there were directly responsible for the towers falling and why we have to press one for english." These fine Americans will take care of the rest. Do not forget to invest your children's college fund (lol) and to write in Robin Williams for President. Thank You.

THE SADDEST AND MOST HONORABLE THING I HAVE EVER BEEN THROUGH......

AS PROBABLY ONLY A FEW OF YOU KNOW, I AM A MEMBER OF THE KANSAS NATIONAL GUARD MILITARY HONORS TEAM. AS AN ADDITIONAL DUTY, OUR MISSION IS TO PAY LAST MILITARY RESPECTS TO SOLDIERS.

YESTERDAY IN KANSAS CITY, OUR TEAM PAID OUR RESPECTS TO AN OLD SOLDIER. THIS SOLDIER HELD THE RANK OF CORPORAL. DURING THIS PARTICULAR CEREMONY I MADE A BIG MISTAKE. I LOOKED DIRECTLY INTO THE EYES OF THE SOLDIER'S WIFE. IT WAS THE FIRST TIME IN A LONG TIME I COULD FEEL THE TEARS START TO COME. THE LAST TIME I COULD EVER REMEMBER CRYING WAS MY GRANDFATHERS FUNERAL AND AT THE END OF THE MOVIE, WE WERE SOLDIERS WHEN MEL GIBSON CAME HOME TO HIS FAMILY.

AFTER THE FOLDING OF THE FLAG, I HAD TO SLOWLY SALUTE THE FLAG. I SWEAR I COULD FEEL THE OLD LADY'S EYES FIXED DIRECTLY ON ME. THE TEARS IN THE POOR WOMANS EYES WERE NOT ONLY TEARS OF SADNESS, BUT TEARS OF PRIDE. THE ENTIRE FAMILY STOOD A LITTLE TALLER AS THEIR SOLDIER WAS BEING HONORED.

THE HONOR AND SADNESS IN THAT MOMENT MAKES THE PAST NINE YEARS OF SERVICE WORTH IT. THE OPPORTUNITY TO PAY RESPECT TO A FALLEN BROTHER/SISTER IS MORE GRATIFYING THAN ANYTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD. IT IS TRUELY AN HONOR TO BE ABLE TO GIVE THE ULTIMATE THANKS TO A SOLDIER FOR THEIR SERVICE. THOUGH I DO NOT LIKE TO SEE FALLEN SOLDIERS, I CAN ONLY HOPE AND PRAY THAT I WILL CONTINUE TO HAVE THIS GRAND OPPORTUNITY AND PAY MY FINAL RESPECTS TO THOSE WHO HAVE RESPECTED AND SERVED OUR NATION. THIS MAY SOUND VERY MACAB OR TWISTED, BUT I HOPE ONE DAY SHERRY WILL BE ABLE TO FEEL THE PRIDE THIS OLD LADY FELT AS HER SOLDIER WAS BEING LAID TO REST. THE WORDS HERE CANNOT DESCRIBE THE EMOTIONS BROUGHT TO EVERYONE DURING THE CEREMONY. I END THIS SHORT BLOG BY SALUTING ALL WHO HAVE SERVED PAST AND PRESENT, IF NOT FOR THEIR SERVICE OUR COUNTRY WOULD NOT CONTINUE TO BE THE GREATEST NATION.

AND THE NEXT PREZ IS.....

After many months of analyzing each political candidate, I ve come to the conclusion and my vote for the next leader of the free world. Before I inject my thoughts deep into your cerebellum, I must entertain you with the process that has led me to my decision.

First and foremost, I am a Soldier. I will proudly serve and defend our country regardless of the leader.(Well, if for some strange reason Mr Aminidijad or Mr Jung-Ill were to take office I might reconsider my allegience) This being said and sounding an incredibly similiar as to that of a product guarantee on the telelvision, I may continue. (for those who know me, Im not thinking to "expand the empire" nor " support a military coup.") We are not here to discuss policy. Well, maybe a little.

Every candidate has an agenda, of course. Every candidate is making enough money to support the policies he/she may one day bestow upon us. Both sides have their ideas and to some extent are good. But, a lot of things look good on paper i.e. communism. Great thought and idea.... on paper but is not Capitalism and I must say I love making money and competition. I would support a common person in the White House. Someone who cannot afford the luxuries politics ironically possesses. Politicians are there to serve as long as they can do it from the comfort of their yaughts or summer homes. This person could have money but not be corrupted by the dealings with big business. (God forbid I stop someone from making HONEST money ) Like the famed rapper 50 Cent says, "Get rich or die tryin '." This candidate is loved by millions and hated by few. My candidate for office.............ROBIN WILLIAMS.

Mr Williams showed excellent potential in the movie, Man of the Year. I believe he spoke about the main issues that are troubling our great nation. He had America realize its not above any political/corporate corruption and it has faults like any other nation. Lord knows I would rather be in this nation dealing with corruption than to be dealing with it in the Darfur.

As much as people like to "bitch" and "complain" about our political system and its leaders we have to admit it is the lesser of fucked nations to live in and thats what makes it great. That and the fact nothing ever gets accomplished.....wait four years you can change the policy back to your liking. So, in 2008 do the right thing vote for Robin Williams. If he fucks its up at least he can make it appear funny and America can laugh about it. (If not Robin Williams, than who your guy/gal sucks)

The best friend ever......

When all is lost and one thinks the ways of world have swallowed all that is good, right and moral....my best friend rescues me from my flu-like hell. I was stuck in Topeka's Clubhouse Suites on temporary duty and became sick in the middle of the night. After attempting to fight a severe migrane for a few hours, I commenced in hurling everything up out of my body for what seemed to be an eternity.

It is amazing what someone will think about as they are hurling there guts into the porcelin god. During my hurling experience, my thoughts consisted of, "shit, I have the Flu","how am I going to get home from Topeka, Im too sick to drive", and most famously,"I dont remember eating that." I think possibily threw up so much a little bit of my soul came out.

This is only the second time in my life I felt like I could die. I most definitely couldnt drive back home and I couldnt stay in the hotel, I didnt really know what my options were at the time. I called my parents, they couldnt help until later that evening. I called my wife, she couldnt help(logistics would have been a nightmare). I called my friend, my ally, my brother,Bill.

Bill and I have been through all kinds of things together, college, war, and most importantly the trials and blessing that life grants. As Im calling Bill, I m thinking," if he would just let me sleep on his couch for a few hours my parents could come and help me out." Oh no, that is not what happened. Bill came to the hotel, made sure I made it to his house okay, and when all was fine and I thought I was good to go took the day off and drove me home to Pittsburg. His wife, Carrie took the day off too and followed us to Pitt. This amazed the hell out of me. All Bill said about the matter was, "dont mention it" and "you would have done the same for me." I would have to agree, I believe I would do anything for him as any family would do for each other. Bill is the Goose to my Maverick, the Robin to my Batman, and most importantly the black guy to Don Johnson in Miami Vice. He is truely my battle buddy through life. He made sure I made it to the one place I could recover, my home. I must say there is something about being sick in your own home that makes you feel better to a certain degree. Bill and Carrie, are great friends to have in your life and would almost do anything for.(Taking a bullet is pushing it a little)

So this my first blog, the one thing I told myself I would never sellout too, is dedicated to my best friend, Bill. ( BEST FRIEND NEXT TO MY BEAUTIFUL WIFE SHERRY AND MY WONDERFUL DOG, MARLEY)
